Arriving at the hospital, as I parked my car and alighted from it, I makes sure that the coast is clear before utter her to come out.
I lead her directly to doc. Adam's office straight, I have already put a call to him. I knocked on the door which he uttered me to come in.
We both sat down as Adam was just staring at her, she then faced me which I nodded my head. He was happy that it didn't take him so long for her to recover.
“So how are you feeling now?” Adam asked her
“Just some pains, are you the one who treated me?” She questioned.
“Yeah, sure and you are welcome.” He said smiling looking at me which I smirked back.
“I will repay your kindness one day.” She said as doctor Adam burst out laughing, I only smiled.
“You know that you can't repay me right, and I just decided to help my friend here, he's the one who took the risk so don't bother yourself, we are blessed already.” He explained winking at me.
“As you wish!” She reply. “So can do the checkup?” She asked.
“What's your name?” I asked, thou I forget to asked her in the house. “Veronica!” She said, well not that bad I thought. Her accent really prove it all maybe she isn't around here. I thought.
They went in as I stayed back, few minutes they walked out.
“How was it?” I asked immediately, I hope that it hasn't become worse.
“It was quite well, she is good to go and the wound, nurse Nancy will cleansed it, errm....let go office is always boring!”
He said as I relieved and then lead the way, we sat outside while she went inside but I was able to view her from the glass.
“Hmmmm bookworm, it like you catch another fish.” Doc. Adam said as he collect some drugs. I look at him wondering. “You know that Laurel might be jealous if she caught you with her, you are so lucky bro!” he said.
“Lucky you said uh! How? when she had already left since, I'm single for now and not ready to mingle.” I explained.
“No wonder haven't spotted her with you, I can't believe she really left, you guys were lovers, always smooching each other to tease me and I thought you two will ends up together, well girls are so unpredictable that is why I will forever remain single.” Doc. Adam said logically.
“You see bro; I can't do anything else, I think love wasn't meant for me, I don't need love anymore, you know that I'm not that type of guy who goes out fuçking around.” I said.
“Then what about her? She is so perfect for you and not like Laurel!” He pointed his finger as I follow the direction which my eyes were fitted on her, she is so beautiful no doubt, we are both healing up.
“Whose knows if she is already married, she hasn't yet told me her side of story, so I think she might be.” I said.
“Have you asked her, man? You really need to find out, I like her for you, I don't know of her character anyway but who knows what I told you earlier that she can even build satisfying relationships, so isn't that bad, and she is cure. Since you are the one that took the big risk, you'll understand her more than anyone.”
“Some might even want to see her suffer or used her mental health to destroyed her as they did but you can also help her maintain it instead of releasing it.” He added and dab my shoulder.
“I can't rush Adam, I still have to wait until I heard her story, instead of not allowing her to heal her wound, I don't want to be among her nemesis.
The door open as she walked out “Think about what I say bro!” he said and hand the small bag to me which contains drugs.
“Make sure she takes her medication for fast relieve.” He said as I thank him and we both knuckles in our brotherly way.
We both walked out from the hospital to the car, I open the door for her, as she enter, she was mute which I noticed as I stare at her.
“Is anything bothering you?” I asked which I saw her tears immediately.
I try to touch her which she shift, I have to stop and then ignite the engine and drive out. I glare back at her which she had already fallen asleep. I pressed the remote as the gate open which I drove in as its closes back.
I open the car door and carry her to her room, I placed her on the bed, stare at her once more, Adam's words kept repeating in my head, I don't want to add more injuries to her. I then on the dim light before walking out of the room.
