The ghostly figure loomed closer, its presence suffocating Rachel. She tried to back away, but her feet felt rooted to the spot. The air was thick with the stench of decay and death, making it hard to breathe.
As the ghost raised its hand, Rachel saw that it was covered in blood, and its fingers ended in sharp, bony claws. It let out a chilling scream, and Rachel felt a cold breeze wash over her, making her skin crawl.
Suddenly, the lights flickered back to life, and the ghost vanished. Rachel was left standing alone, panting and trembling with fear. But she was not alone for long.
She heard footsteps, heavy and deliberate, coming from the hallway. The sound was getting louder, closer. Rachel's heart was racing, and she knew she had to get out of there, fast.
She turned to make a run for the door, but it was too late. The dark figure reappeared, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. It spoke in a voice that sent shivers down Rachel's spine: "You should not have come here."
Rachel tried to scream, but her voice was trapped in her throat. The ghostly figure reached out and touched her face, and everything went black.
When Rachel came to, she was lying on the floor, the room was silent, and the lights were off. She slowly got to her feet and made her way to the door. But as she opened it, she saw something that made her blood run cold...
